A place for traditional noter and drone style Appalachian dulcimer players and beginners. Feel free to post your comments and questions at the end of each post by clicking on "comments". Welcome, friend!
Yesterday I created a new online community just for mountain dulcimer players. It's called "Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer", and is located here: http://fotmd.com/
Join us as a member of Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer online community (it's easy and it's all absolutely free), then go to the "My Page" link at top and start customizing your very own personal dulcimer webpage home. You can join or start a group, add friends to your friends list, start discussions, ask questions, add your own photo albums or videos, arrange a chat time, and start your very own dulcimer BLOG journal where you can record your personal dulcimer journey and express yourself. It's EASY! Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer is for ALL levels of players and for ALL styles of dulcimer playing. And it's a place where both beginners and longtime players can feel right at home in asking questions and getting encouragement and inspiration. It's your place, where you can easily create a unique dulcimer page that truly reflects who you are. We're having a regular dulcimer 'block party' there- come join the fun and make new dulcimer friends!
Click this picture above to take a peek at our fun online Appalachian dulcimer community! Get playing help, see videos of dulcimers played by other members, join dulcimer discussions, find out about dulcimer events near you, and make new mountain dulcimer friends! Super welcoming, and everyone there LOVES to help beginners!

WELCOME!...Click on the "continue reading..." link under each post to see the whole post with all its TAB and pictures. IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER, IT'S BEST TO READ THIS BLOG FROM THE BEGINNING, where I explain the very basic ideas and methods, and where I post the very simplest TAB songs to help get a beginner started. This blog was started on Feb 14th 2009. Look right below here TO CLICK ON THE POSTS SORTED BY DATE, and read posts from the earliest dates forward. You can click on any previous month, and that will bring up a page showing all the posts from that month. If you click on a picture or TAB of a song it will get BIGGER so you can see it more clearly and you can PRINT OUT THE TAB for your personal home practice use. Thanks for visiting!
